Ringing in The New Year



Over the years, our New Year's Eve traditions have been many and varied. From multi-family game nights/sleepovers when I was a kid, to attending elaborate Vintage Balls as a teen. Since we've been married though, we've settled into more quiet rhythms. Often, we'll enjoy an appetizer feast for dinner -mostly, we choose to stay in and celebrate. 

 

Our big tradition actually happens on January 1st. For the past many years, we've sojourned up to beautiful Bath County and celebrated the turning of the calendar with an intimate concert of inspiring chamber music followed by a buffet lunch with 100 of our closest friends (not really, they're actually strangers!). Garth Newel Music Center is the setting for this magical day that leaves you, somehow, with the feeling of a whole-body palate cleanser and renewed hope for the world. We cap the afternoon off with tea at The Homestead before turning our wheels back toward home. Highly recommend.
