The Current Cocktail

Last summer, we partnered with four local establishments to create signature drinks and dishes. Far and away, the most popular was “The Current”: a cocktail collaboration between myself and Melanie Eames of Napoli by the Lake. While it was only on the menu for a month, I still receive occasional requests for the recipe. So, here it is: fresh, bright, floral, delicious…the perfect cocktail for the end of August!
INGREDIENTS

2oz gin
½oz elderflower liqueur
3 slices of cucumber (½" rounds)
Squeeze of fresh lime juice
Tonic
In a cocktail shaker, muddle together cucumber slices, gin, lime, and elderflower liqueur.
Add ice and shake until chilled.
Strain into a rocks glass with ice and top with tonic water.
Garnish with additional cucumber slices and/or a lime wedge.
*The gin used in the original recipe was Bombay Sapphire, and the elderflower liqueur,
St. Germain. My personal tonic of choice is always Fever Tree.
