Lake Players Spring Performance

The spring performance of the Lake Players opens on April 11th at 7pm. Director Matt Karris, veteran actor, director, and theatre teacher, describes this compilation of artistically rich work as a melodic journey that takes the audience through an exploration of the human spirit.

The cast is comprised of ten talented performers ranging in age from 18 to 80. There will even be a few special guests coming from nearby Lynchburg, VA to join the Players on stage. Though this is not a variety show, I'm certain that the diverse repertoire covered over the course of the evening will keep the audience engaged and delighted around every turn!

The venue for Monologues, Scenes, and Songs 2.0 is the Celebration Room in Downtown Moneta. Adding to the convivial atmosphere will be coffee house style seating, along with wine, beer, and snacks available to purchase. Content is described as PG-13.

In addition to directing the Lake Players and sitting on the Board of Directors for Smith Mountain Arts Council (SMAC), Matt is also President of the SML Center - having taken up the banner of Vicki Gardner's commitment to bringing a central hub to the community that includes a performing arts theatre. He is excited to keep the momentum moving forward and says that the Board is currently looking into the former Sunken City Brewery building to see if it might lend itself well to the overall vision that the Center hopes to embody.
