I've been hearing whisperings of a new art store that opened here at the lake in June, and finally decided to stop on by one Saturday afternoon to see what Shop at the Nines (aptly named for their address: 9999 Brooks Mill Rd.) was all about!
The owners, Donna and Patricia, are also two of the featured artists who share their work and are just as nice as they could be! They offer a lovely selection of goods for sale with a heavy emphasis on local makers. Paintings, photography, books, pottery, warm glass, jewelry, soap, candles, etc., etc., etc.! In addition to the beautiful local work, they have a variety of fair trade items (all handmade), as well as some antiques and other vintage finds.
There truly is something for everybody. This would be a wonderful place to pop in for a hostess or birthday gift, a souvenir from your time at the lake, a statement piece to add to your home decor, or just to treat yourself while you support area creatives at the same time!
