With more regularity than we care to admit, life has a way of running itself full tilt down the roads of stress and busyness, anxiety and overwhelm. One of the things I have found over the years that acts as a reliable antidote is having some positive rituals in place. Some might call them traditions. The goal of which is simply to have intentional time set aside to look forward to each day or week. Something to cause you to take a breath and soak in the things that feed your soul.
One ritual my husband and I keep during the warmer months is packing a weekend brunch to take to the park every Saturday morning. No matter what the prior week might have held, this is a moment of calm, reconnection, and peace that we can always count on.
